Meet Dr Sheila Cook

Dr Sheila Cook is a highly experienced Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician, with 28 years of medical experience. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 1996 with the university’s highest award for academic achievement, the University Medal. Sheila completed her specialist training in Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Mater Hospitals in Brisbane. In 2005, Sheila became the first Consultant Endocrinologist in Toowoomba.

Sheila is now in private practice after a number of years as Director of Medicine at Toowoomba Hospital and Deputy Director of the Rural Clinical School with University of Queensland. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and Griffith University and is actively involved in research and medical education. Sheila is well known and highly regarded by the general practitioners and specialists in the Darling Downs, due to her exceptional knowledge and communication skills.

Sheila is a mother of four children and knows the importance of finding a balance between work and a healthy life. Sheila competes in Masters Athletics, and in 2024 was the 3rd fastest sprinter in the world in her age-group.

Meet Dr Julian Pavey

Dr Julian Pavey is an Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician experienced in managing a wide range of hormone issues as well as medical disorders in pregnancy. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with Dean’s Commendations for high achievement and academic excellence. His medical roots are in Toowoomba where he completed university and commenced training as a junior doctor. Julian completed his specialist training at  the Royal Brisbane & Women’s, Mater, Townsville and Toowoomba Hospitals. He has returned to Toowoomba with his young family in 2023 where it feels like home again.

Julian values holistic care for his patients in conjunction with their general practitioners and ensuring that his patients’ needs are met. He is committed to individualised, patient-centred care.

He holds an academic appointment with the University of Queensland and is actively involved in medical education. He practices evidence-based medicine and stays up to date in the fields of Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine by participating at national and international conferences.

Julian spends his free time exploring with his wife and young daughter. He enjoys cooking and travelling which speak to his inquisitive mind.

His warm, compassionate, and empathetic demeanour along with his relaxed nature and sense of humour are why his patients and colleagues value his input.

Dr Ramessh Ranjan

Dr. Ramessh is an accomplished endocrinologist with extensive expertise in the management of a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders. Currently serving as a staff specialist at The Canberra Hospital and consulting at the Barton Specialist Clinic in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Dr. Ramessh brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his practice.

Dr. Ramessh earned his medical degree from the prestigious University of Melbourne, followed by dual fellowships in endocrinology and general medicine. His background in general medicine equips him to devise treatment plans that consider the intricacies of co-existing non-endocrine chronic conditions.

Committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Dr. Ramessh collaborates closely with his patients to enhance their health outcomes. With a diverse professional background spanning various healthcare settings across Australia, including regional Victoria and the Northern Territory, he has garnered invaluable experience in addressing the healthcare needs of diverse populations.

Originally from Melbourne, Dr. Ramessh relocated to Canberra with his growing family. Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and participating in recreational activities such as basketball, squash, and cricket.

Dr. Ramessh remains dedicated to serving his patients in Canberra and now Toowoomba, offering consultations via Telehealth for convenient access to expert care.

Dr Sneha Vidyasagar

Dr. Sneha is an experienced Endocrinologist, with high level skills in managing a wide range of endocrine disorders. She has a particular interest in diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, osteoporosis, obesity management and women’s health, including PCOS.

She completed her medical degree at Griffith University and completed her rigorous physician training at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and Ipswich Hospital. Now a publish scholarly author, Dr Sneha completed her specialist training at Toowoomba Base Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and Logan Hospital.

Dr. Sneha is passionate about providing compassionate, personalised, and holistic care. She understands that every patient has unique health goals and priorities and is committed to working collaboratively to develop tailored management plans that align with their values. She is committed to equipping her patients with the knowledge they need to confidently self-manage their conditions.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, cooking, exploring the outdoors, and travelling.

Dr. Sneha lives in Brisbane with her young family and is now offering consultations via Telehealth for convenient access to expert care with our specialist team.

Dr Kate Craft

Dr Kate Craft

Dr Kate Craft is an experienced General Practitioner who has worked in Toowoomba for over 25 years. She has worked collaboratively with local Specialists for many years and has an interest in Women’s Health, Preventative Medicine and Chronic Disease Management.

Kate grew up in Brisbane and graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Kate began her medical career at the Nambour Hospital where she completed a Certificate in Women’s Health which qualified her to provide shared care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Kate gained her Specialist General Practice qualifications in 1999 becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP), and received the Academic Medal for the highest score in Queensland in the RACGP Clinical Exam.

Dr Kate began general practice in Toowoomba in 1999 and has practiced at St Andrew’s Medical Centre and now Platinum on North ever since. Kate supports patients to manage their complex physical and mental health issues, and works collaboratively with Specialist colleagues and Allied Health practitioners to provide care. Kate feels privileged to have provided care to many local families since 1999. Kate’s clinical knowledge is vast and has been expanded by 15 years of experience in surgical assisting in areas of Breast/Endocrine and Metabolic surgery.

Kate has a strong commitment to family and in her spare time enjoys gardening, mountain biking and bushwalking with the focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance and ageing well. Kate is now joining the Toowoomba Endocrine and Diabetes team to supporting patients with Menopause and related health issues. We are privileged and proud to have such an outstanding doctor join the team.

Kylie Radunz

Kylie brings over 10 years’ experience and holds a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management. Kylie is credentialled with the Australian Diabetes Educator’s Association and holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Masters degree in Midwifery. Kylie is highly skilled and has an interest in all types of modern Diabetes care. She has a particular interest and skillset in gestational diabetes and maternity endocrine conditions. Kylie brings experience as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator in:

  • Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes
  • Inpatient care and education
  • Chronic kidney disease and haemodialysis.
  • Diabetes technology (Insulin pumps and CGM).
  • Building confidence in people with diabetes
  • Indigenous health
  • Health professional education
  • Community health promotion

Kylie prides herself on warmth and friendliness without judgement. She enjoys learning about what is important to each patient and values managing diabetes in a modern, evidenced-based way. Above all, she is driven to help patients achieve their goals rather than being controlled by their diabetes and recognises that this looks different for every patient.

Meet Leticia Griffin

Leticia is our friendly office manager and has been with us since the beginning. Leticia is our expert on all things to do with the administration and scheduling of our practice. She will be the most common person you will talk to when you make contact with us.
 
Leticia grew up in Allora, where she lives with her husband and 7 children. Leticia understands diabetes, as she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes herself when she was 10 years old. She has a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor and is becoming an expert on diabetes technologies, so please ask her. Leticia also has coeliac disease and would love to hear about your food finds and newest recipes.
Delia Cook

Meet Delia Cook

Delia is our receptionist and is responsible for a range of office duties for the practice. Delia helps our doctors with the letters that you and your GP will receive outlining your care and she is also responsible for ensuring that we comply with Medicare and Health fund requirements for your care.
 
Delia has grown up in a health family and has been in and around Endocrinology and Diabetes care setting her entire life. Delia is becoming a content expert on Diabetes Technology and is an asset to the team.
Aiden Cook

Meet Aiden Cook

Aiden is co owner and General Manager of the practice. Aiden is an experienced Leader and Manager with 30 years in the Health Industry, 20 of those in senior clinical management and executive positions.
 
Aiden is a Radiographer by background and has a passion for ensuring the patients needs and perspectives are looked after for every patient.
 
He is an advocate for our staff and each patient as we try to maintain and improve your health.

Kate is a Toowoomba-based nursing leader with extensive experience in advanced diabetes care, education, and advocacy. A Certified Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Diabetes Educator, she has been supporting people living with diabetes since 2012 and was recognised as Queensland’s Credentialled Diabetes Educator of the Year in 2016. Kate recently completed her Certified Nurse Practitioner credentials, expanding her scope to deliver comprehensive, technology-enabled diabetes management and nursing care for our clients. She brings expertise in complex insulin therapy, advanced assessment, and person-centred care, ensuring individuals receive support that is practical, respectful, and aligned with their daily lives. Driven by a commitment to equity, Kate advocates for models of care that honour patient choice and improve access to diabetes technology, particularly for those in rural and regional communities. She also contributes to workforce development as a tutor in the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education and Management at James Cook University. Kate is widely regarded for her calm, collaborative style and her ability to make complex clinical information clear and accessible. “Care should empower people, not overwhelm them.”

We are very happy to welcome Genevieve Topalov and the Dermal and Oedema Clinic as an onsite partner. Genevieve is a senior Dermal Clinician specialising in integrated health, wellness and aesthetics. She has broad experience across cosmetic and medical dermatology, aesthetics, women’s health and lymphoedema care. Genevieve has worked alongside Australia’s leading cosmetic dermatologists at the Dermatology Institute of Victoria, and helped over 500 patients in her clinic achieve better skin, lymphatic and adipose health. Genevieve holds a Bachelor of Dermal Science from Victoria University, and undertook specialised training in best-practice lymphoedema care at the Oedema Institute, Clayton. She is a full member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC), and is an accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner with the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA). Genevieve advocates for integrated health and aesthetics, speaking nationally at conferences and training events. She is also passionate about providing health practitioners with training on managing lipoedema and lymphoedema in their practices.

Dermal and Oedema Clinic provides Skin Health Therapies, Lipoedema and Lymphoedema therapies and Lymphatic and adipose health treatments. Service areas include Non-invasive scar therapy, Hormonal skin changes, Rosacea, acne, eczema, dermatitis and can manage Tele-Dermatology Referrals and Assessments. Gen provides Clinical Assessment and Management Plans, Advanced assessment including Bioimpedance Spectroscopy and provides Tailored therapies including laser therapy and medical endermologie with no referral required.
