Meet Dr Sheila Cook

Dr Sheila Cook is a highly experienced Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician, with over 25 years of medical expertise. She has worked in Toowoomba since 2005 at Toowoomba Base Hospital and started in private practice in 2022.

She grew up in Brisbane and graduated from the University of Queensland in 1996 with the university’s highest award for academic achievement, the University Medal. Sheila completed her specialist training in Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Mater Hospital, and the Princess Alexandra Hospital, before moving with her family to Toowoomba as the first Consultant Endocrinologist in Toowoomba.

She was the Director of Medicine at Toowoomba Hospital for 8 years and the Deputy Director of the Rural Clinical School with University of Queensland. Sheila is a current elected board member for the Endocrine Society of Australia Council. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and Griffith University and is actively involved in research and medical education.

Sheila is well known and highly regarded by the general practitioners and specialists in the Darling Downs, due to her exceptional knowledge and communication skills.


She is a mother of four children and knows the importance of finding a balance between work and a healthy life. Sheila competes in Masters Athletics, and in 2022 she was ranked as the 10th fastest sprinter in the world in her age-group.

Meet Dr Julian Pavey

Dr Julian Pavey is an Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician experienced in managing a wide range of hormone issues as well as medical disorders in pregnancy. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with Dean’s Commendations for high achievement and academic excellence. His medical roots are in Toowoomba where he completed university and commenced training as a junior doctor. Julian completed his specialist training at  the Royal Brisbane & Women’s, Mater, Townsville and Toowoomba Hospitals. He has returned to Toowoomba with his young family in 2023 where it feels like home again.

Julian values holistic care for his patients in conjunction with their general practitioners and ensuring that his patients’ needs are met. He is committed to individualised, patient-centred care.

He holds an academic appointment with the University of Queensland and is actively involved in medical education. He practices evidence-based medicine and stays up to date in the fields of Endocrinology and Obstetric Medicine by participating at national and international conferences.

Julian spends his free time exploring with his wife and young daughter. He enjoys cooking and travelling which speak to his inquisitive mind.

His warm, compassionate, and empathetic demeanour along with his relaxed nature and sense of humour are why his patients and colleagues value his input.

Dr Ramessh Ranjan

Dr. Ramessh is an accomplished endocrinologist with extensive expertise in the management of a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders. Currently serving as a staff specialist at The Canberra Hospital and consulting at the Barton Specialist Clinic in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Dr. Ramessh brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his practice.

Dr. Ramessh earned his medical degree from the prestigious University of Melbourne, followed by dual fellowships in endocrinology and general medicine. His background in general medicine equips him to devise treatment plans that consider the intricacies of co-existing non-endocrine chronic conditions.

Committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, Dr. Ramessh collaborates closely with his patients to enhance their health outcomes. With a diverse professional background spanning various healthcare settings across Australia, including regional Victoria and the Northern Territory, he has garnered invaluable experience in addressing the healthcare needs of diverse populations.

Originally from Melbourne, Dr. Ramessh relocated to Canberra with his growing family. Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and participating in recreational activities such as basketball, squash, and cricket.

Dr. Ramessh remains dedicated to serving his patients in Canberra and now Toowoomba, offering consultations via Telehealth for convenient access to expert care.

Kylie Radunz

Kylie brings over 10 years’ experience and holds a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management. Kylie is credentialled with the Australian Diabetes Educator’s Association and holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Masters degree in Midwifery. Kylie is highly skilled and has an interest in all types of modern Diabetes care. She has a particular interest and skillset in gestational diabetes and maternity endocrine conditions. Kylie brings experience as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator in:

  • Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes
  • Inpatient care and education
  • Chronic kidney disease and haemodialysis.
  • Diabetes technology (Insulin pumps and CGM).
  • Building confidence in people with diabetes
  • Indigenous health
  • Health professional education
  • Community health promotion

Kylie prides herself on warmth and friendliness without judgement. She enjoys learning about what is important to each patient and values managing diabetes in a modern, evidenced-based way. Above all, she is driven to help patients achieve their goals rather than being controlled by their diabetes and recognises that this looks different for every patient.

Meet Leticia Griffin

Leticia is our friendly office manager and has been with us since the beginning. Leticia is our expert on all things to do with the administration and scheduling of our practice. She will be the most common person you will talk to when you make contact with us.
 
Leticia grew up in Allora, where she lives with her husband and 7 children. Leticia understands diabetes, as she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes herself when she was 10 years old. She has a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor and is becoming an expert on diabetes technologies, so please ask her. Leticia also has coeliac disease and would love to hear about your food finds and newest recipes.
Delia Cook

Meet Delia Cook

Delia is our receptionist and is responsible for a range of office duties for the practice. Delia helps our doctors with the letters that you and your GP will receive outlining your care and she is also responsible for ensuring that we comply with Medicare and Health fund requirements for your care.
 
Delia has grown up in a health family and has been in and around Endocrinology and Diabetes care setting her entire life. Delia is becoming a content expert on Diabetes Technology and is an asset to the team.
Aiden Cook

Meet Aiden Cook

Aiden is co owner and General Manager of the practice. Aiden is an experienced Leader and Manager with 30 years in the Health Industry, 20 of those in senior clinical management and executive positions.
 
Aiden is a Radiographer by background and has a passion for ensuring the patients needs and perspectives are looked after for every patient.
 
He is an advocate for our staff and each patient as we try to maintain and improve your health.

Diabetes Educators

We partner with the Diabetes Educators in Toowoomba at AH Diabetes, Healthy Lifestyles Australia, St Vincent’s Hospital and St Andrew’s Hospital.

Diabetes educators provide education and day-to-day practical support for diabetes and:

  • Insulin injection technique and dose adjustment
  • Insulin pumps
  • Continuous glucose monitors
  • Diabetes problem solving
  • Dietary advice and carbohydrate counting
  • Gestational diabetes

Dietitians

We partner with Dietitians in Toowoomba to provide a personalized and structured approach to healthy eating and match your individual preferences and health needs.
